.Be Ready Before the new team members joins , be ready with his /her desk , Laptop and another things that’s are necessary to perform the job and other HR formalities and make the existing team aware that a new member is joining
2. Provide tour of the office. Start your new team member off with a tour of the office and facilities, introducing them to people as you go along. There’s little chance that they’ll remember everything, but it will help them feel more comfortable approaching people with questions later on if they know they’ve already been introduced.
3. Ask them to complete mandatory trainings : These days every companies has their own training related to Cyber security ( due to hybrid nature of working) , Company policies , Ethics training ect So its good to plan to train your new employee, so they can understand the companies culture and ethos .
4. Give them up with small, manageable tasks at first
Before you begin piling on all the big, complicated assignments, give your new hire a chance to ease into their new role. Smaller, less complicated tasks will give them a chance to settle in and build their confidence. Make sure to provide them with plenty of detailed instructions so they don’t feel overwhelmed.
5. Assigned them a mentor
It’s natural for someone to feel unsure of the specifics during the first few weeks of a job. You can help new hires deal with the confusion by assigning them a mentor who they know they can go to with all their questions until they get their feet under them.
6. All HR related paperwork done as soon as possible
While not the most enjoyable part of the process, paperwork is essential. So get it out of the way as early as possible. It can help your new employee feel productive during their first day. You might even consider emailing them the paperwork before their first day so they’re ready to hit the ground running on day one.
7. Invite your new Co-worker to eat lunch with you
If you and your work friends have a consistent time and place that you eat lunch, let your colleague know. That way, they won’t be shyly having Sad Desk Lunch on her first day.
8. Take your new team member out for coffee
This is not only a great opportunity to show your new colleague where to get the best coffee near the office but will also give you a chance to ask questions, learn about your new colleague, and get them out of that brand-new work environment, which can be a little stressful at first. Put yourself in your new coworker’s shoes and ask, “How would I want my new colleagues to treat me?”
9. Once you have successfully introduced your new guest to others, don’t leave it at that. Work to actively engage them in any group conversations that you might be in related to work, & social ,
. Ask for their feedback which is very important At some point near the end of their first day, be sure to ask your new hire how everything went. Do they have any questions? Was there anything that gave them cause for concern? Is there anything they need that you might have overlooked? Knowing that you are concerned about them can help them leave with a positive first impression of their new job.
It’s the little things that count to make the new team member feel welcomed
